Thoughts on the Honda VTX 1800 Neo Retro?

I like my C-50. I have only only a few complaints.
1. Spokes & Tubes.
2. Not alot of options for customization. Sure, a few chrome accesories, but.......

I am looking at potentially buying a new ride. Something with a little more vroom to it. I recently looked at a Honda VTX Neo Retro. I think it has a little Arlen Ness look to it, specifically the fenders. They look like front and taildraggers.

Any thoughts on this bike. Never owned a Honda. For the price (13- 14K) am I better off with a Victroy or Harley when it comes depreciation value?

Any comments appreciated, even negative ones!

WOW

I really love the look of the Neo, but the best folks to give an opnion on the perforance and handling would be Condolini or the Volusianator!

As far as depreciation goes, the HD's do hold their value, but I wonder how long that wil hold true for. Seems that the better the Metrics get, at a better price, and more of a chunk they will take of that. I don't think the metrics will hold value better, the HD's might just frop off a bit. As the fuel injection and 6 speeds in HD
s become the norm, I look for the carbs and 5 speed HD's to become a bit more reasoanble in price. An HD dealer near me had some Dnya's for just under 10 grand last year when the six speed, injected Dyna debuted. Stay tuned!!

I think there are a ton of aftermarket options for the Vol...but if it isn't your thing, then a new model may be the thing that inspires you.

I love the look of the Victorys myself. A bit pricey for me tho. The Honda is a sharp machine and from what I can see on the net, again, a ton of aftermarket options.

Any way you go, your gonna have a nice bike.

I'm not a big fan of the retro look, if I was going to buy a VTX today, it would be the F model. Have seen some of the Yammie Star commercials, the one with the big wrap around rear fender is butt ugly IMO.

The Vol was the first bike I had that wasn't a Honda. No complaints about performance, fit, or finish, but prefered the cast wheels and leaner look of the C. The price wasn't bad either because it was an '03 leftover. I'm waiting for the local Victory dealer to have their test ride day but don't have any plans for replacing the X for a couple of years.

You 'd like the Victory, but your X is probably just as nice, and just as good a performer. I rode a Vegas and Kingpin. They do out do a Vol in the speed division, but I'm not sure they are any step up in that area over the X. Let us know your thoughts!
