I have personally extended an invite to Lee Shelton to the next ******* Rally. Me and Dennis are going to nishiate him. We are going to sandwich his head between the king's shark fin and big'uns 2 into 1 and hit the rev limiters. He will live quietly ever after. 
Sounds like someone needs to get a motorcycle. :roll: As for the "limited" economic impact he must be kidding! :? A LOT of money is laid down in many different businesses. Sure there probably won't be many major appliances or big screen tvs sold, but if you can pack it, wear it, install it, eat it, or drink it, it will be bought.
Lee Shelton is a pussy! Let me count the ways that he is flawed, not only in his looks, but logic too.
1. Apparently his pockets are not getting lined from the rallies, so who needs them. Oh, I don't know, hotels and restaraunts, gift shops, biker shops and gas stations to name a few. What the hell does that fat fucker think is lining the main drag in Maggie Valley? Nursing homes? Dumb ass.
2. He has friends that ride bikes. Right, just like every white person has "alot" of black friends right before they say something insensitive.
3. So bikes cause more congestion and take up more space. Two bikes take up the same space as 1 car in a lane that is moving slowly. You can also get more bikes in a smaller space. You want congestion, let the Corvette club come to townor any other large car club and see how fast it fills up. By the way, those rich folks are not gonna buy the cheap shit your selling in the little boutique shops. So much for economic impact!
4. Who the hell is buying a house on the main drag in Maggie Valley? You should move because you are a dumb ass!!
5. God forbid that the owner of Wheels Through Time was smart enough to see a market and offer a product and service to it. That asshole should not be allowed to make money so easily, huh?
6. Motorcycles travel in packs on the Blue Ridge Parkway and it scares my pansy ass. They ride fast and make me nervous while I am trying to drive while looking everywhere except the road. Well, dickhead, I hate when slow fuckers like you get in my way and impede my enjoyment of such a wonderful road like the BRP.
7. While laying in bed at night, the only thing I can hear from the road is a motorcyle, it's a Harley. How the hell does he know what bike it is? Probably because he is so stupid as to only know that name. My Volusia with HK 3" bigs on it was louder than most Harleys.
8. Bikers get bored riding up and down Hwy 19. WTF? We don't go there to ride up and down Hwy 19 through town. We go there to enjoy the many wonderful roads and scenery up there. Again, he shows himselg to be an uneducated dickhead.
9. One of my friends got burgularized so it must have been a biker. What a piece of shit. If someone made that statement while living in a area that has a "black springbreak", that person would be called a bigot or a racist. Which is EXCATLY what Lee "big pussy" Shelton is.
10. "it appears" that Bikers drink all day. More bigoted shit. He saw one guy do it, so we all do it. What a bastard. The bikers I know RIDE all damn day, then we drink all night. When we are NOT on the road.
11. Drugs? My God, he is grasping at straws. You know, the cocain snorting type
12. What does Myrtle Beach know that they don't? How about the fact that there are NO roads to ride around the coast. They are flat and straight. There is nothing to do in Myrtle Beach except drink. I sort of understand why Myrtyle Beach is not a good place to have a bike rally.
13. The economic impact on Maggie Valley if the bike rallies left would be devastating. There is no reason to go there. What is the attraction? It's a bunch of hotels and restaraunts. Most of whom benefit from the rallies. Bikers need a place to stay and a place to eat. That is pretty much the extent of what you can do in Maggie Valley. Plus it is close to some great roads to ride on.
Mr. Shelton needs to be punched in the face and told to shut the hell up. Not because I disagree with him, but because he is uninformed or misinformed or both. This guy sounds like the typical "vocal minority" member of the community. They dislike something, so assume everyone else does. I think every town has people like that who crusade over some stupid thing or another that's a huge deal to them but means nothing to the other 99% of the residents.

There is an element in Sturgis that this guy could be associated with. There has been quite a bit of talk of not allowing the Bike Week Rally to be held in Sturgis (podunk little town-don't anyone yell, I'm from South Dakota-as far from it as I could get). There are a number of small town around the area that would love to take over if Sturgis locks up.

Just went to Maggie Valley last October. I found the merchants very open to bikers and the motel we stayed at (Smoky Falls Lodge on Jonathan Creek) has been extensively remodeled by a new owner that is a biker! The new owners want to cater to bikers and they wouldn't be spending a butt load of money on their place if they didn't think bikers had economic impact. I plan to go there again in September. Sounds like sour grapes to me.

In order to EFFECTUALLY disable the M/C hating factions in that area, just simply call for a National Motorcyclists Boycott against that area!
AND, Make sure that if You are passing thru with a car, suv, etc, that You DO NOT STOP THERE AT ALL!
