:D Yes Amsoil is a synthetic oil that many of the Volusia riders on another forum use. Below is a post from the other site:

The cheapest way to buy Amsoil is to become a preferred customer. Then you buy it at wholesale. Is does cost you $10 / 6 months or $20 for a year.

To become a preferred customer go to www.amsoil.com and select to become a preferred customer. On the form it will ask for a customer number. You can put in 502384 as the customer number and I will receive credit for the referral. Amsoil will drop ship as little or as much as you would like.

So when I order for my Volusia, I order the following:

1- SMF-109 / Super Duty Motorcycle Oil Filter
4 -AMF-QT / SAE 10W40 Synthetic High Performance Motorcycle Engine Oil
1- TGR-QT / Series 2000 SAE 75W-90 Synthetic Gear Lube

Some like to run the heavier 20W50 Synthetic High Performance Motorcycle Engine Oil that was designed for V twin engines. It should work just fine. I run the 10W40 because that is what Suzuki specs.

I've heard it's great to put about half a quart on a long piece of plastic and do belly flops across the yard .
Seriously though... If it works for you, use it.

Yeah, what about a free-range organic version? Low-fat, low-sodium, preferably. I like to look after my bike, even though my brain's shot to sh*t...

:D They have Synthetic and synthetic blend. The synthetics are good for 25,000 to 35,000 miles or one year and the blend is good for 7,500 miles or 6 months. The motorcycle oil is synthetic only, however my Suzuki dealer sells the blend to run in the bikes because you are supost to change the oil every 6,000 miles anyway.

Have to try some

Scott, got about 250 miles on the bike now, and will have to try some of your Amsoil. would go with the 20w50 because of the heat down hear, was 108 yesterday, a new record so anything to make the bike run cooler/smoother. Do they also have a gear oil or shaft oil??

How are things in the Cache, still working on the canyon road??
