Wow. I tried to play nice by telling you I saw the point of your retarded story and still you can't let it go.
At no point in my original post did I say he was a stranger. Was telling the story exactly as it happened.
Go ***** in your hand bowtie.
:biglaugh:

At least I told the whole story. A lie by omission is still a lie. My story was true the first time around, only the person reading it made it "retarded".

Have a great day!

You know something....

In all honesty....

All the people I've met over the years riding....

Never had a negative experience with any of them. Haven't met one yet that gives a hoot what you ride.

Pretty much all feel that as long as your knees are in the breeze it doesn't matter how they get there....Metric, American, Trike, Scooter, Spyder, Etc....

Which is how I think it really is 99% of the time.
Agreed - most of the guys I ride with are hard core Harley dudes and they don't give a rat about WHAT I ride - all they care about is HOW I ride. I have come across many Harley and Victory riders, ALL have been complimentary of my bike - one really hard core MC member told me not to let anyone give me sh*t about my ride, he liked it (liked the sound of the cobra pipes) and would ride with me any time.

So I was taking a cruise today and decided to stop by my local Harley dealer to check out what they had sitting on the floor. No intent to buy, just going to look for the **** of it....

...As I get off my bike and start walking towards the building I notice two guys haging out in front of the store smoking cigarettes and shooting the shlt. They were both riding Harley Electric Glide's. They also had their neon green banners on the windshield showing their rank in their riding group. As I approach them, the one guy goes, "hey, you come to trade that thing in???" I felt like telling him to FACK OFF and shove his Harley up his fat ***!!! No disrespect to anyone who rides a harley here, unless you are one of those who puts Harleys on the almighty golden pedestal above every other bike.

Just gets me pissed cuz this isnt the first time. There have been plenty of instances where people have said "nice bike, but it ain't no Harley" or "ya know, if you want something to last and hold better value you should buy a Harley instead".

Anyone else run into these invalids along your travels??
If you like your bike, and are comfortable with it their comments wouldn't bother you. Obviously your interested in the brand or you wouldn't have gone there. I mean, I don't just walk into a Nissan dealer just to see what's there, I dont because I have no interest in Nissan's. If you do want one, you could have just said "some day" or "not today", but you let it get to you, that's your problem.
I work all day alongside a Harley Road King owner who's also a MC club member. We get along great, we talks bikes every day. He's proud of his brand, and I'm proud of mine, and yes, we kid around about the Harley mantra too!
You should have expected it, you were, so to speak, on enemy turf. Like a Giant at an Eagles game, or a Jet at a Patriots game, your are going to here it. Stand tall and enjoy the ride!

My story was a lie because I didn't mention he was my buddy? You take Internet forums too seriously. I won't comment further. If you feel the need to continue you can pm me.

Well,.............actually it is an honest enough question.

My HD dealer takes any brand trade ins. I was recently dealing on a Heritage Softail (which I did not buy), a salesman asked me the exact question, I know where your coming from, these were not salesmen, but still, is that question really so inciteful? You were at a dealership after all.

btw the salesman took my Kawasaki for a ride before he showed me trade in value, when he came back he had nothing but good things to say about my bike and the price he offered me was more than fair.

Two days ago I stopped by my metric dealer, it is two blocks from the HD dealer. My friend, who rides a beautiful CVO Electra Glide, was in there picking up snowmobile parts, CVO parked out front of the metric dealer. When I see him inside I asked, wassa matter, wouldn't make it another two blocks? He replied, "I knew I'd find at least one azzhole in here" We're friends, we can talk to each other that way. :biglaugh:

I think your putting too much into the comment, I've heard, and said, way way worse.
sorry, but i cant stress the tone the guy said it in over the internet. He was a straight up d1ck about it....

the basis of this thread was to explain how I was minding my business, going to look at some bikes, and someone had to chime in and try to harsh my mellow...:smoking:

...and it all stemmed from the fact that I pulled up riding a C50.

Thanks for the psychological breakdown of my behaviors. Also, I'm glad you figured out for me that I am not allowed to go look at other brands of motorcycles or cars unless it is the one I am driving or I plan on buying one. I am now a better person...

So much good "life advice" on this forum.

I love my Suzuki..Ms. Liberty is what I call her. She brings me freedom of the road....freedom to enjoy life in my country on my terms...freedom to ride to let my spirit fly....don't care about no Harley...don't care about no rank in your group.....all I care about is my bike and the freedom of the road.
