Did anyone out of their curiosity measure how much gas is left in the tank each time the Volusia fuel indicator drops off one of it's segments?

  • 5 segments on - tank full (4.5 gallons / 17 liters)
    4 segments on ... ? gallons/liters?
    3 segments on ... ? gallons/liters?
    2 segments on ... ? gallons/liters?
    1 segment on ... ? gallons/liters?
    the last segment starts blinking ... ? gallons/liters? (manual says 0.4 / 1.5)

according to my owners manual. which covers vl800/C/T.
1 segment is 3.5 L or 3.7 US qt or just under 1 gallons
flicker segment 1.5 L or 1.6 US qt or just under .5 gallons.

I have an 07 so I don't have the yellow light... the last bar of the five flashes when you are low. I haven't measured in-between, but according to the manual when you get to the last bar there is 7/8 of a gallon remaining and when it starts flashing there is 3/8 remaining.
