Upcoming Changes to the Motorcycle.com App.

Hello,

We’re here to announce some changes to the Motorcycle.com app. Firstly, we regret to say that Tapatalk is pulling its support of our branded Motorcycle.com apps, both the free and paid versions. As a result no further updates for them will be released and they will no longer be available for download as of December 31st 2015. Sites that request it can be added to the main version of Tapatalk, but all app support will need to go through Tapatalk itself.

However, we can now announce that we have developed a brand new Motorcycle App developed with a different company that we will be working very closely with. This will allow for issues to be addressed in a much timelier manner. The new app can be found here!

iOS:
Motorcycle Free (Motorcycle.com) by AutoGuide.Com https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/motorcycle-free-motorcycle.com/id1000718653?mt=8

Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.topify.motorcycle&hl=en

You’ll notice that there’s no paid version of this app. That’s because unlike the old app this one recognizes paid users on the site and is ad free for those groups!

Some other important features include:

Being able to switch freely between light and dark skins!
Being able to upload more than one picture at a time!
Instant push notifications for all of your subscriptions and PM’s
Regular updates directly through the site so you don’t have to search through the app store!
A new streamlined look for speed readers and posters!

We hope you enjoy this brand new app and we thank you for all the time you put in to the old!

As always we welcome your suggestions and issues, so please post them here!
Remember to include your device and operating system when you’re posting issues!

Thanks

I have Tapatalk for other forums but I could never get VR to work on it, which is why I downloaded the motorcycle app.

Sorry, but this new app isn't anywhere near ready for release. Here are the problems I've found off the top of my head.

1) Can't like or thank a post.
2) When reporting a post I can't add a message.
3) When going into a previously read thread it appears to be random as to what post it drops me on. Almost never is it the actual last read post.
4) When composing a message there's no way to pick out smilies and the shortcuts for the IMG and URL tags are missing. I can do them manually, but not everyone is familiar with XML, least of all a bunch of motorcycle gearheads.
5) When I'm done reading a thread and hit the back button it takes me through every screen I previously looked at. I just want to exit the thread and go back to the thread list where I left off.
6) When I tap on a user to look at their profile it gives no information. I can't tell if their a newbie, mod, admin or lifelong member. No location information. Nothing. Just a list of posts.
7) There doesn't appear to be a way to configure what view I open the app to.
8) It takes forever to load when I first open it.

There are more problems, but these are the major ones that stick out in my head. If you don't mind, pass the list on to the dev. Some of these items may exist and I'm not seeing them, but if I can't find them then they sure aren't discoverable for the average user. I'm a network engineer with a CS degree. I'll be happy to work with the dev to point out issues and make suggestions.

6 months ago we went through this. Prior in years past we had people quit here because they didn't like the changes. Just sayin....

Hi,
Can you please tell me what phone you are on so we can test these issues?

Thank you:)

Yup. What? You thought I'd buy an iClone? Thanks, but I wanted a phone that works.

Samsung Galaxy
I had a Note before this. It was a good phone but was ruined by all of the junk that Samsung put on it. Nope. Very happy with my Nexus.
I get an error now using the motorcycle.com app saying

Samsung Galaxy S4 running rooted Lollipop 5.0.1

I'm going to uninstall and reinstall.
Uninstalling and reinstalling did nothing to correct the issue.
I downloaded the app yesterday in fact, running without issues .. So far lol ... I have an iPhone 5.

Samsung Galaxy S6, here.

I installed the app just to try, and I get the same same error, except for the message is in Spanish.
Don't ask me why, but I tapped on the screen out of the message, and it disapeared and the app works. I can sign in and read everything in the two forums I am a member. If it ever shows again, same thing. If I tap OK at the end of the message, then the app is closed.
Give it a try, and tell me.
I tried the link for android on page 1 and it took me to a different app than what's listed.

Hey guys,

It sounds like you guys are using the old motorcycle.com app.
The licence for the old apps have not been renewed and will not be renewed. Focus will be toward the new motorcycle.com app.
Here is a link to the Google Play and Apple App store: Free Motorcycle Mobile App - Apple & Android

I hope this helped clarify things guys.

Richard.
