Throttle Assist/Control

Has anyone installed a mechanical throttle assist/control on our rides? Almost like a cruise control for those longer rides when the hand gets cramped. Just checking.

I've had a Crampbuster on every bike I've owned. They really help.

Whiskey, I too own a cramp buster but have seen, in other models, a type of "cruise" control. Just thinking out loud.

I has a throttle lock on my CTX for about three years, until I got into a situation where the back tire slipped and even though I let go of the throttle, it kept accelerating. Almost crashed the bike, so it came off and went jnto the garbage.

Roger that, had not thought of possible, deadly side effects. Will stick with my cramp buster
I had a Brake-Away hrottle lock. Just tapping the break lever disengaged it.

I have always used one of these. You can easily roll off the throttle and push right through the resistance it creates.

The brakeaway throttle lock looks noce and works well. I have on on my C50. On my 109R i have a kaoko throttle lock. It looks real nice and they work well.

The Kaoko works well with the stock grips. You have to have open ended grips. As you can see, the M109r has the same stock grips.

Me too, worked well
I knew a guy that installed an actual cruise control on his C50T, hid the control behind the compartment on left side, but thats about all I know about it.
I use a simple clamp-style device. Certainly not a real cruise control, but a lifesaver when that throttle hand needs a break, or needs to be briefly free to search a pocket, etc.
Over the years, I've used:
1. Brake-Away
2. Omni Cruise
3. Cramp Buster

The one I won't be without on any bike is #3.

It doesn't do the same thing that #1 and #2 do, but it's versatile and helpful for daily riding. I wouldn't throw again for either 1 or 2 unless I was planning a long roadtrip with a lot of highway droning.
I think it was an Omni Cruise that I had. It was fine, but I'm much happier with a bike that actually had real cruise control on it. 😊

I still have a Cramp Buster though. 😉

Yeah, my current ride has actual cruise control, which is a first for me. A nice feature.

But I rarely use it, to be honest ... while I use the Cramp Buster every single ride.

I had picked up one of those but the shaft length was not long enough for the set up between the throttle and brake mount.

Same. Cruise doesn't work well on twisties and I don't ride on the highway if I can avoid it, but it is really nice when my hand needs a break or I need to do something with my right hand.
