Hey, it's been a little while. I had a major surgery where they removed and rebuilt a good chunk of my intestines on March 19. There were some complications and the couple week recovery still had me recovering. So, since I'm missing the first part of riding season I was hoping some of the guys here could post pictures from the road, so that I can live vicariously through you. ;-)

Get better buddy. Noticed you seemed MIP (missing in posts) . On a charity ride right now, try to get some pics or a short video uploaded for you.
You worry about getting better.

sorry to read of the major surgery but sounds like the human body this time needed some rebuilding instead of the mc...hope the healing goes well and you
are able to get out riding again soon. Take care.

Sorry to hear about your surgery.

Praying for a successful and quick recovery for you.

My brother has to have reoccurring stomach surgeries due to his Vietnam injuries and I can tell they're no fun at all.

Thanks all. The worst part is my neighbor just got a new Indian Chiefton and keeps telling me "if you want to take it for a spin just let me know." Stupid, stupid timing lol. Oh well, soon I hope.

Oh and duglaura, congrats on the anniversary. Thats fifteen years longer than I've ever made it.

Nope, I have a three inch hole in my stomach that refuses to heal. I'm going to see a new doctor on Monday and hopefully he's going to refer me to a wound clinic. My surgeon refuses to refer me, he doesn't think it's a problem and it should probably close in the next year or so. I think he's afraid the wound clinic will say it's because he botched the closing part of the surgery. The up side is I'm gathering all sorts of parts for the bike even though I'm not allowed to lift half of them yet, lol.

Sorry to hear your not back on the road.

Doesn't sound right that it should take that long to heal.

Second opinions are always full of good information. If the new doc says it was botched, get a third doctor's opinion. If the two new doctors are in agreement, have them get you to a specialist to confirm. Then, go after the first one and let one of the others start the process to get it fixed.

The human body was designed to heal quickly. It shouldn't take a long time unless something went wrong.

Thanks pcdoctorcom, I think the problem is mostly with the way they closed it, I even had the surgeons Nurse practitioner say she didn't lie the way they stapled it because it didn't look like it was holding things closed.

And DCinCT, that sounds great but I think I'll have to pass this time.

I'll say a little prayer that you do get to see a wound specialist. Wound clinics often do fantastic work.

Will refrain from saying what I think about the doc who declines to refer you to one, and I'm very sorry you can't simply go to a wound clinic without insurance underwriting it.

Gfisher...That is a serious amount of stuff you managed to strap on the bike. Lol Hope you had a great ride.

It was great except for a really bad fish tail on wet roads. Though I'm thankful I stayed right side up.

SideWinder, just saw the bike you're selling. Looks like we have the exact same ride. Year and model.

Thanks, I think he's afraid of a lawsuit. It's really not what I have in mind though. I'd just like to heal. Oh and thanks for the prayers, I can use as much of that as I can get. ;-)

I'm glad you stayed up too. I lost to the death wobble on a CB750 once on a wet road in the middle of the night in Indiana years ago...not fun at all. lol

I guess I'm going to keep the bike for now. I've been bored enough to start buying up all sorts of farkles for it. I was thinking of trading up to a touring bike next year before all of this other stuff, but I think I've accumulated enough stuff that I'd probably should keep this one for another season or two. lol
