My 07 c50 tank had been sitting for a few years and built up some rust and needs to be cleaned out. I pulled the fuel pump assembly and fuel sensor out but need to plug the hole with something. Anyone have any suggestions what to use to seal/plug that hole where the fuel assembly sits. I think it's about 2 11/16 inch hole.

Welcome from Kennesaw GA!

BlueBeast has probably got the best idea going. The only other idea I have is possibly duct tape, but I'd test the cleaner on it first to see if the tape can handle it.

Everyone I know who has done a tank cleaning has covered the fuel filler hole with waterproof tape and used the fuel pump opening to pour in the solvent and aggregate, then seal it with the same tape and shake till their arms hurt. Once you remove the scale, you will have to re-line the tank to prevent future rust from forming.
