Red Wind Casino Presents:
Mild to Wild
Hot Rods & Hot Rides
April 25-27 at the Tacoma Dome

(Tacoma, WA) Red Wind Casino Presents the 19th Annual Mild to Wild Hot Rods & Hot Rides with the World of Motorcycles Friday thru Sunday, April 25th-27th at the Tacoma Dome. Two great shows for the price of one! Over 190,000 square feet of the most beautiful custom hot rods and motorcycles assembled - all under one roof - tempting even the most humble of custom automobile and motorcycle fans.

“We’re celebrating 19 years as the biggest and best collection of custom cars and motorcycles indoors on the West Coast, says Willie Forstein, owner of the show. “We have Over 400 custom cars and bikes including custom Hot Rods, Muscle Cars, Street Rods, Street Machines, Race Cars, Radical Custom Cars and Hot Bikes all professionally built and painted with elaborate designs and exotic colors,” says Chas Marten, Show Director.

The featured car at the 19th Annual Mild to Wild show is Ferrambo, a 1960 Nash Rambler married to a 2002 Ferrari Modena drive train. The Ferrambo was built by Divers Street Rods based in Startup, WA and won the coveted 2008 Ridler Award in March at Detroit’s Autorama. The Ridler Award is the ultimate award recognizing the best of the best in the hot rod world. Detroit’s Autorama is considered America’s greatest hot rod show attracting over 120,000 people annually.

In addition to Ferrambo, Divers Street Rods built two other cars that will be featured at Mild to Wild including a 1940 Pontiac Convertible and a 1932 Hi-Boy Ford Coupe.

“We are thrilled to have Ferrambo at the show this year,” says Forstein. To have a local company win such a prestigious award really says a lot about the quality of the
custom shops found in this area as well as the caliber of the types of hot rods and hot bikes we’ll have at the show this year,” he said.

One of our feature bikes at the show is The Rebel, a custom bike hand-built by Arlin Harmon of Full Throttle Cycle and painted by Josie Lawton from Illusions Custom Paint & Airbrush, both from the Tacoma area. The bike features airbrushed imagery of James Dean, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, and Humphrey Bogart.

Ever wonder how they paint those incredible images, flames and stripes on the wildest custom cars and motorcycles? See over 50 different air brush and pin stripe artists, affectionately known as “pin heads” led by Bob Davidson who organizes the “Brush Bash” for the Mild to Wild show. “It will be the largest gathering of pin heads in the country,” says Marten, “And they are all here to demonstrate their incredible talent pulling lines.”

If you have ever been interested in building or restoring your own custom hot rod or custom motorcycle, visit with any of the West Coast’s finest custom car builders who will be at the show to share their latest designs and ideas, including Street Rods by Denny Olson, Fosses Hot Rods & Cool Cars, Richardson Custom Auto Body, Customs Northwest, Cob Web Specialties, Ewing Kustoms, Full Throttle Dyno, as well as the finest painters, fabricators and upholsterers - all ready to answer your questions and provide their expertise while displaying their latest creations.

The Tim Hall Band with special guests Blues Oasis will be on hand to entertain you at the show with their hits of the 50’s 60’s and 70’s. Check the show website at www.mildtowild.us for performance times and more details on the Mild to Wild show.

Tickets are $15 and are available at the Tacoma Dome Box Office, all TicketMaster outlets or online at www.ticketmaster.com. Children 10 & under are FREE when accompanied by a paid adult. Free Motorcycle Parking on Saturday & Sunday in Parking Lot D.

Hours are Friday, April 25th from 1pm-10pm, Saturday, April 26th from 10am-10pm and Sunday, April 27th from 10am-6pm.

I'm thinking that after the "honey do list" gets a bit of attention I'll just have to see if the HD lowers fit and then test them out............ Almost got wet riding to and from work today.
