Suzuki Marauder Riser question

Its been a long time since I've been on here (I lost my Volusia to some jerk who ran a stop sign and got a Harley) but my wife has a 1998 Marauder VZ800 and I need some help. I'm fixing to start bobbing her bike out, and we want to put a set of 14" apes on it. What size risers are going to fit the Marauder? I need a cheap, short set of risers (1", maybe 2" tops) so I can swap the bars. I know this isn't a Marauder forum, but the one forum I found is running on some bulletin board software from 1994 and is a PITA to read. Can anyone on here help me out?

Actually, you're in the right place. The VZ800 Marauder was the predecessor of the M50, and there are plenty of those on here.

As for risers, someone can correct me if I'm mistaken, but I'm pretty sure the triple tree and handlebars never changed. That means that if you find a set of risers that say they'll fit the M50 you should be able to use them on your Marauder.

As for cheap, just remember that you get what you pay for, and the piece that holds my handlebars onto the bike is the last place I'm saving dough.

Check out someplace like Cruiser Customizing, just remember that the stock risers are 2", so if you get 3" risers they'll only raise the bars 1". Normally you can hit about 4" without changing the cables, but if you're going to put on apes, you're going to have to change them anyway.

What size did you go with on riser and height of bar. I have a 97 marauder and want the highest height and use same factory cables and hoses
Welcome from Kennesaw GA!

You'll get better response of you start a new thread than you will by replying to one that is a decade old.
