Whining sound but dethrottle while in gear and running down road feel a lurch..
There is ''a whining sound'' that happens especially in the lower gears and I have experienced what could be described as a ''lurch'' when moving from acceleration or cruise to deceleration. Most of the driveshaft failures seem to happen ''without warning'', according to the reports that I've read on here.

In any case, it would be a good idea to pull the final drive for inspection and lubrication if you don't know if or when it was done before.

Do not under stand this statement but the whining sound is normal. Feeling the lurch is possibly to high a gear for your speed? How new is your bike to you?? Probably not your driveshaft but since you don't know it's condition pull it and check for grease.anyway. The splines are notorious for not being lubed. Previous Vol rider
