I was thinking about this today and was wondering if anyone out there had done this already...Should I do it? Is it a terrible idea? Suggestions/Photos wanted
No such thing as a suicide shift on a bike. The term is suicide clutch, it comes from having the clutch set up like a car clutch. Push the pedal down to clutch the bike, and have to hold it down till you're ready to go. No putting your left foot down at a stop in gear. If the shifter was under you're left ass cheek, it was a jockey shift.
One of these makes a hand shifter easier to live with. Harley calls them rocker clutch I think, I always called them a heel and toe clutch. They use the spring and adjustable friction action to hold the clutch so you can put your foot down stopped in gear. Most of the harley after market places sell repo units. It shouldn't be too hard to adapt one.
