Aftermarket. They are ungodly loud without adding any performance boost.

The only suggestion I make to anyone considering an aftermarket exhaust is leave the OEM one in place. You can get them for free, or next to free as time after time, people rip off the perfectly good set of pipes to try to get their bike to sound like a Harley. It won't. Ever. It will sound really loud and droning, especially on the freeway. Look in the swap meet for OEM pipes and you will be happier.

The cross pipe is there to equalize back pressure when compression braking.

Also, what is the purpose of the middle pipe between the two?
I believe to equalize the exhaust pressure. I have not seen that on aftermarket exhausts (not that I've seen a lot, but...). OEM exhaust has a similar junction, it is just made much nicer.

I would imagine the connector pipe gets real hot...

Last exhaust system that sounded decent was the Roadhouse 2-1 pipes...

Got to agree with everybody before me that say leave OEM exhaust on. By the way that exhaust looks exactly like my son Harley 2001 883

Thank you all got the comments and advice
To be honest, i'd prefer stock pipes, also, not a big fan of loud.
