Regretfully, on my way into work this morning something let loose and my poor 03 VL800 blew the biggest cloud of smoke I’ve ever seen. Thought it was on fire at first, then it died. It still turns over, but I didn’t try to start it back up in fear of locking the motor up. Made the walk of shame back to my house (over a mile).

I couldn’t tell if it was burned fuel in my exhaust mixed with carbon, or if it was oil. Either way, it was definitely wet.

any ideas on where to start volusia experts?

Do a compression test.........probably going to be bad. Then start searching for a used engine or a new bike.

That's a bummer! I'm sorry to hear that.

I would buy another bike and part it out.
Too bad we don't know where he's located.
