Not sure about up in Canada, but down in California, there is a common trailer that is a single trailer and when your not using it, the back folds up and you can stand it up on end to reduce space.
This is a ebay link to the same kind. they normally go for $2500.00 USD.
I use a folding version sold by Harbor Freight. Stores upright in my garage and is good up to 1200lbs. Comes in a box and assembly is required. Pretty straight forward instructions. Does not come with a trailer bed so you can go with plywood or diamond plate for the topper. (2) 4x4 sections create the trailer bed with hinges to allow it to fold on to itself. I added a wheel chock and tiedown hooks to the front and rear. Less than $400 for everything including plywood topper. You can paint or seal the wood to prevent moisture and dry rot. The diamond plate or metal topper may add more weight than the plywood which will affect the weight when you stand it upright. My goal was to make sure I could fold it down or up solo.
