As some of you know, I've acquired a parts bike. No key. How do I remove the gas cap and locking side cover? Don't want to spend money for locksmith to rekey as the bike is being parted out.

Pay a locksmith to pic it. Have him make a key and sell the cap and key to cover your expences. You can add the ignition switch with it. Or tank and cap. All three?. many possibilities.:wayhappy:

Depends on how much damage your willing to accept. You can probably pry both off with a flat head screwdriver and keep most of the damage to the cover or cap.

Actually they are very easy to pick.
If you have ever even attempted to pick a 3 to 4 tumbler lock (like a door) then the gas cap will be easy, I think it's only 2 tumblers. I got one off my buddies C50 in 2 seconds while he was trying to find his keys.
