No wonder there are some who have reported rear brake light switch spring breaking - at the maximum extension the curved loop at the switch bends. It bends at the position my last spring broke. See attached animated GIF... and picture of broken spring. The spring needs to be able to rotate/spin such that it does not bend... thoughts? I was thinking a small ring on the switch to which the spring is then attached. Would it make a difference if the open part of the spring was installed such that it was on top instead of on the bottom as shown in the animated GIF?
