Putting a 2011 C50 to the test - mega road trip

I figured the way to really get the most out of the bike was to go on a 2 month long jaunt across the country. Back roads the whole way

Started in Boston.

1st leg destination is Sioux Falls, SD for a few beers with a buddy.

The circuitos route:

  • Woodstock, NY ✅
  • Harrisburg, PA ✅
  • Philadelphia ✅
  • Pittsburgh ✅
  • Columbus, Oh
  • Lexington
  • Cincinnati
  • Indianapolis
  • Chicago
  • Tunnel of Trees, MI

  • Sioux Falls, SD

I ride from time to time with @BigBert and he mentioned I should post this cause you never know who is where.

& holy hell is that area of NYa hella ride. Just a nice chill on the side of the mountain twisty road. 9 & 32 are kick ass.

I’m jealous you get to live there. 🤣

Somewhere on Route 30 in western PA. And if you’re looking for hairpins and cliffs, give 30 in near Breezwood, PA a shot.

First tiras repair. Carriage bolt broke on a bag. Had no idea how hard it was to find a 8m 1.25 x 120mm bolt. 5th store was the charm.

thank you Lowes. Thought I was going to have to get silly with zip ties.

got a lock washer this time. Luckily all the other bolts are seized, so it works 🤣

which I also have a nice new set of metric wrenches in my bag.

picked a random town in Ohio to run back roads to. The motorcycle gods smiled.

Ended up in a town completely shut down for a giant car show. Sweet!

Columbus was great. There’s a lot of great rides outside the city. Long straightaways with sharp turns to miss a field or something.

Inside the city bikes are cruising everywhere.

Fun time.

Made it to Cincinnati. Let’s see what this place has to offer.

Sorry guys got wrapped up in Indy and forgot to update. So I made Cincy and then moved onto Indy. Hanging out in Indianapolis for a few days.

Second roadside repair performed when I discovered that my low beam was no working one night on a twisty Ohio road. Sorry other drivers, your vision is gonna get it.

Cincy was a kick ass town. That area of KY and OH is twisty road on hillside goodness. Highly recommend a visit if you get the chance.

Indiana is another story. Heading to Chicago later this week.

Welp. Emergency repair #3 in progress.
Snapped a clutch cable. Easy to fix, relatively easy part to find.
But stuck in Indy till both happen. Damnit.
