I've gone through 2 sets of OEM rear turn signal lights for my 2003 Volusia. Both sets have the same issue. The rubber has cracked by the mounting under strain from constant vibration and from the weight of the light.

Has anyone found a better replacement that they could direct me to?

first I've heard of this type of problem with the rear signals in the 15 years I've been on this site...oem lites are kinda light, weight shouldn't be an issue, have you tried an extra layer of rubber on the mount?

I finally got around to trying this fix. Unfortunately, this is not a fix for cracked rubber (by the mounting bolt). This is mainly for shortening the lights.

Thanks just the same though

I think shortening them will prevent the problem from returning. Physics. True you will have to replace them this time, but it may prevent the need to do it again.
