ok, here we go....

Adam and Missy went to Roswell Park Cancer Institute on Tuesday.
They met with the Head of Multiple Myeloma, which I will abbreviate from now on MM.
My daughter in law is the best, She was armed with questions from her and Adam and from me.
She got them all mostly answered.

---------------------------------------------------

Adam has advanced MM

Tuesday the whirlwind begins

Adam goes for Bone Marrow Biopsy.... (find out how aggressive it is)

after biopsy .... school on the how to give self injections.... on the drug cocktails they will be giving him, and what ever else they are going to be doing there......

then he gets his first treatment....

he will be getting treatments on Tuesdays and Fridays for 3 weeks, if his body responds well, they will do a Bone Marrow transplant on him, using his own marrow.

That is all we have for now.......

------------------------------------------------------------------------

All depends upon his body and how it accepts treatments.

his lower spine is all myeloma....

he'll be out of work for 6 months to a year

----------------------------------------

They don't really stage MM anymore..... it all depends upon how your body responds to treatments....

-------------------------------------------------------------

You may be asking..... why didn't they find this sooner....

MM is tricky. Either found by accident, or when you are having symptoms from it.

Firstly it is super RARE.....

Secondly, it is mostly common in 70 year old black men....

Yearly blood work will not show the spike in the M protein..... or show that you have that stupid "M Protein" you have to have a specific test to show if you do have the M Protein...

If you have the M protein dr will monitor to make sure it doesn't turn into a Bone Marrow cancer such as MM, waldenstrom's macroglobulinemia (which my sister in law passed from in 2008) or Lymphoma.... .< Doug.....

----------------------------------------------------------------

So, now the journey begins......

And, I don't like it......

But, I do know, G-d is in control.....

No matter what happens..... I trust in G-d
