Hello! About 6 months ago I purchased a 2012 Suzuki C50T Boulevard. I love it! Except, the horn sounds like it belongs on my 14 year-old's electric scooter! UGHHH

What recommendations do any of you have? Aftermarket horn kit? If so, which one?

Thanks in advance for your help!!!!

I have a 2009, they make after market air horns, you can hear mine across the river, 2 miles.

Do you think you could be a bit more specific about that horn you have? :sneaky:
the horn that i have is the factory installed. the pitch is very "high". it sounds very weak and wimpy
Installed a Wolo 519 in chrome on my '08 C50. Very nice, just the thing you need on the highway, might be just a bit too much for pedestrians/city streets. Had to come-up with a mounting solution. I reused OEM horm bracket, bought some bolts and other hardware at my local home improvement store, and had to move it to the left side of the bike. You can use one of the highway bar mounts on the frame to secure the horn.
I am not very mechanically inclined but can somebody tell me why they cant just make an aftermarket horn that directly replaces the factory horn without a bunch of wiring needed?

thank you so much!
Forgot to mention: you will need to have a replay to battery & OEM wiring. I had a bunch of automotive wires for a previous project, so I made my own wires and connectors. You could buy a kit, and it will probably work OK, it is just hard to find a good quality kit. Also need to wire a fuse on battery positive wire before reply, appropriate to the horn Amp. draw.If you never done anything like that before, it might be a bit intimidating, but overall it is a simple project.

I have now replaced horns on 5 bikes that I can recall (they all tend to be pathetically weak). May have been a couple more, not sure -- but what I am sure of is that not a one of them required any change to the wiring. A couple did require fabricating or modifying the horn mount.

Interesting. Most posts I've seen, such as the one before yours, talk about wiring, relays, fuses, etc. I just want something plug and play, adapting the mounting is no big deal.

Do you have any specific horns you would recommend that don't require additional wiring?

The WOLO, already mentioned, wired right up to my '08 C50. Another current favorite of mine is the Freeway Blaster -- not in quite the same league as the WOLO, but a substantial boost over the stock horns.

OEM horns are one of the first things I replace when I get a new bike. The louder the better! Cell Phones are the worst invention ever for motorcyclists' health.

As mentioned, WOLO or Stebel horns are the go to recommendation. 130dB air horn will wake up the sleeping cager for sure. Several options are available on Amazon. While I know you mentioned plug and play, none of these air horns are that simple. They do require a relay to be wired in, so you don't fry your switch with the voltage pull. Simple kits are also available on Amazon. I know it's more of a PITA than you want, but getting people's attention requires LOUD and loud requires VOLTAGE. It's easy to do and well worth it to literally save your bacon.
I put this on mine. It's pretty loud.

You can find a WOLO horn, if you are familiar with basic electronic you can install it yourself, make sure you use the included relay. Trying to remove the original horn is a real pain in the you know where...
