Hey all, hoping the experts can help. I'm needing to take the tank off my 2002 VL800.
I'm hitting a snag on disconnecting the fuel line from the fuel valve / vacuum petcock.

Everyone says it shouldn't leak gas from the valve without vacuum. Mine does and won't stop.
Any ideas how I can turn it off? so I can remove the tank even though halfway full?

it's probably time for new fuel line anyway (odds are probably pretty slim for it to have ever been replaced and 18 year old rubber is just a problem looking for a time to happen), pinch it off with some vicegrips or a C clamp and cut it off below where you clamped it off.

I think your right. I clamped off the line when I was messing with the valve and it was very slow to regain it's shape after I unclamped it. Thanks I'll replace it.
