Ok I've been rebuilding my blown motor almost a year later lol I get her all back in and and all the pieces needed to start her for a test start and ........................... Starter is singing but that's it , nothing just a starter turning!!!!!
What is wrong and do I have to pull her motor back out?i hope not

The starter clutch and gears are under the left side engine cover above and to the right of the alternator rotor as you look at the left side.

You don't have to remove the engine to inspect the setup...

Page3-58 shows the two gears

Not sure what can go wrong - off hand.... There is a one way clutch in there somewhere - I think..... .... you might have to remove the rotor again to see everything

Not a prob lol got that step memorized and a neighbor with a puller and my trusty ;-) impact wrench . And another rotor and starter clutch from that case I got from penguinguy thank god.. As long as I don't have to DISAASSEMBLE #5. Lol

That's if the help will get you this far down the road..... it's likely a 3 day trip - at least.... :biglaugh:

Okay I got the side off and I was looking at it when I engage with the battery hooked up it ( starter and gears and flywheel free spins not the crank but when I put the 17mm turn the crank everything spins

It is the ''one way clutch'' between the hub of the on the back of the alternator rotor assembly.. you may have ''misplaced'' some of the rollers and/or springs when it was apart...... :crying:

She started today and sounds great..... I had the starter clutch on the wrong side of the spacer thingy !

What kind of puller did you use? And I know it's been years but can't find any info on it.
