I purchased my first bike, a 05 C50 a couple of weeks ago. The bike has 24K miles on it and it appears to have been well taken care of.

I have no maintenance history on the bike so I changed the oil as soon as I got her home and I plan on changing the gear oil this weekend.

What other maintenance tasks or things to look for to make sure the bike is in good shape?

I would go ahead and do everything. Change every drop of fluid, lubricate the cables, adjust the brake and clutch, inspect everything rubber or plastic you can see, check the age of the tires, and do a valve adjustment. That gives you a known good starting point going forward.

Oh yeah, one other thing I'd suggest is to pull the drive shaft, inspect it, and lube the splines.

For sure. I would do this before most of the other things on the list. Will tell you a lot upon inspection.

man thats a lot of work!!

I got mine with 32k. I put air on the tires and rode it. Until everything started breaking.
