Last night my headlight stopped working, on my '05 c50; both low and high beam. Kinda scary when you're on the highway, but I made it home on well-lit sidestreets.

Anyway, this morning replaced the bulb with a new bulb, but the original looked good. Still didn't work. Replaced the low beam fuse with a good fuse. Now the high beam works but the low beam is still not working.

Any ideas?

A look at an older Service manual appears to show separate fuses for high and low beams. 2ndly, I'd put an ohm meter across the contacts on the bulb to verify. In the absence of a meter, 12V across the contacts should suffice.

I have my '03 headlamp bucket open for wiring issues. I noted at least one of the wiring pass-thru holes lacked a grommet. You might want to inspect wiring as it passes thru bucket for worn/shorting wiring.
