For those who don't know 3 weeks ago I had a road incident. I kept the bike from and accident and kept it up, but made my left knee go in 2 differnt directions. Nothing torn.
I have been recooping since. See my rider down thread.

There is a neighbor on my street that is a semi-retired Trauma surgeon. He looked at my knee soon after my incident. Tonight he looked at it again and said at least another 4 weeks to get 80% healed and that I now have a life long "friend".

He should have an idea about this. He has been putting us riders back together for 30 yrs.

Oh well, Fortunate that I still have a working knee and can't really complain. but I WANNA RIDE

How about a knee brace to get you back on the road???

They work awesome, and shouldn't hinder your riding.

Ouch

Hey Box,

Sorry to hear about the knee incident. As has been said, give yourself time to heal. There's no doubt that you want to ride more than ever, especially since you aren't supposed to.

Sorry to hear about the knee but please be patient with your recovery and not rush it. I have had a couple of friends myself for over 15 years that have taken me through 4 surgeries. But there are ways to reduce any potential problems. Just let them heal first.

Cheers!

I have had my knee friend for well over 20 years and two surgeries. A knee brace in my situation makes it worse... However, I also know, in my case, I just need to make allowances for the weakness and discomfort and move on. No more healing for me.

I recommend you see a doc that specializes in knees. They are very tricky...

sorry to hear that boxwrench - have been living with screwed up knees for over 10 years now, but if you take it easy on the recovery, and know your limits afterwards, you can still have lots of fun without too much pain :)

hope your recovery is quick and easy! but as fbc said, a knee specialist can sometimes spot things a regular doc wouldn't, and make some helpful suggestions about therapy.

cheers!

Man, sorry to hear that! :( Take heart though, that time will pass before ya know it.
My accident was February 12. It's May 1st now, and I'm STILL not able to ride. Will probably be another three months at least, and then I will probably have to have a "Mad Max"-type brace, to wear outside my boot.
Cheer up!! It'll get better. Pullin' for ya! :D

I feel for you big time. I'm in a similar state myself for a while longer and it's making me nuts.
Heal fast, but don't push it. The last thing you need is to double your down time cause you pushed it too hard.
