NO! Use gear oil. I use the walmart Tech brand synthetic 75w 140 I think.
Has served me well.

Like others have said, NOT engine oil!!

75w90 is all that is necessary for our drives. That is the common synthetic viscosity. Regular gear oil will be labeled - 80w90. The owners manual calls for SAE90 gear oil but the 75w90 will work better and run cooler than the other viscosities.

I just did this and used Mobil 1 full synthetic 75-90 I think, was only around $15 and you use only maybe 1/4 of it to fill the drive. I am buying all my oil from amazon from now on, cheaper and at my house in 2 days with free shipping. Castrol vtwin full synthetic motorcycle oil is 44$ for a 6 pack. Mobil 1 was about 65 for 6 pack. Here is the gear oil I would recommend.
