I've got a 05 c50 that i turned into a bobber. It wasn't charging so i tested the stator and it was only putting out ~9 volts. so i replaced the stator last night, finished it this morning, tested it, same thing around 9.5 volts and drops to ~5 while revving. I didn't think it would be the regulator because i'm testing it right off the stator. I don't want to just drop parts at it to see what fixes it. Anyone else had this problem or something similar?

Go here--The GSResources - Stator Papers IV - Fault Finding Page
Follow the steps as described and you WILL find the real source of the problem.

This site is dealing with older Suzukis so keep in mind wire colors and some small differences may apply but the test procedures and theory are applicable to any charging system- saved my butt.
At the bottom of the page are links to more important background info.

Good luck!
