I have a 2002 vl800 and noticed a few weeks ago that there is oil leaking on the left side of the engine near the top. It slowly drips when not running and leaks more while running. I’m not too mechanically inclined, so I haven’t been able to pinpoint the location of the leak myself. Figured I would ask on here first to try to save myself a trip to the mechanic. Can send pictures of it tomorrow if needed, thanks in advance.

Welcome from Kennesaw GA!

Any chance you parked fairly close to a Harley recently?

Post some pics and we'll try to help you figure this out. You may want to clean it really well, fill it up with oil, then start it and see if you can see the oil coming out.

Looks like it’s leaking from around these hoses here.

I agree. Could be leaking out of the top of a cylinder, or it could just be an oil line. The tank does come off really easily, so don't be afraid of it. Can't really remember the exact steps, but there are YouTube videos showing how it's done.
