so what's the story with the proposed lawsuit? It's been a long time now, and has any legal action been filed against Cobra?
Nothing has changed from above except the trial has been delayed due to further discovery. I think trial is scheduled for late November.Siouxperkev said:Lawsuit was filed April 1st in Clark County district court. Bad Dog v. Cobra.
Suit seeks $11,000,165.55 in damages. $11,000,000 for negligence, pain and suffering and $165.55 for a new set of MC Enterprises Crash Bars. They are nicer anyway. All discovery has taken place and trial is set for April 28th. Should have an decision before Memorial Day. 8)

+1!!!!!!funbikerchick said:Well, I, for one, hope he doesn't win. I don't want to see a settlement of any kind either. Sorry, but I think we are far too litigious a society. It is ridiculous in my opinion and it ends up costing us all. If Cobra has to pay out $11,000,000, who you think pays for it??? The consumer does. $11,000,000 for this? Give me a break!!!
I've gotta agree and to add some weight and litigation butters her bread so to speak.funbikerchick said:Well, I, for one, hope he doesn't win. I don't want to see a settlement of any kind either. I have no idea. But I did get his DJ drive for a decent price. :lol:FPS said:Wonder whatever happened with this????
since i was able to purchase cobra crash bars at a reasonable price less than a week ago i would venture to guess NOTHING happened, bet it was tossed out of court..... unless of course they now come in a box that says "cobra, a bad dog company" and have a warning label that says "not for use on a motorcycle that is designed to lean when turning!" ... if so , i am wrecking MY bike and suing him!FPS said:Wonder whatever happened with this????
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh [email protected][email protected] said:bump?..........in the road
it is hard to test for the owner stupidity. anyone can lean far enough that something will drag and you will fall over. Sooner or later we have to take responsibility for our own actions and not try to sue someone else for our lack of common sense. I just dumped my new vic when I stopped near a curb on a road that had been overlaid with asphalt several times it had a big crown in the road so when I put my foot down to hold the bike up, with a small amount of gravel in the curb no traction, I fell down. I guess I should sue the city, the construction company who didn't clean up all of the gravel, or maybe Victory for not printing in the owners manual to avoid that situation. Or I think I will fix the minor damage on the bike. realize my stupidity, and remember not to **** up again.razorbacksrule said:I think hes right no way something like that should happen . If you guys had a trashed leg you would'nt be saying the same thing . Products like that should have hours of testing to make sure this does'nt happen . Do you think a big company like Cobra cares about his leg ? All they care about is our money ..

They do, they just aren't as wide and do not actually protect the engine which is the reason most people buy the bars to start with :idea:sanos said:Hmmm...I wonder why Suzuki don't make these type of engine case guards...
Owner stupidity is one thing but going around a corner a little to fast and ending up with a shattered leg is another . Who on here has'nt done the same thing while riding ?wesdalton said:it is hard to test for the owner stupidity. anyone can lean far enough that something will drag and you will fall over.
