okay, maybe not a real skid plate but a good rock guard/speed bump protector. The big Vulcans (1500/1600) engine cases hang out the bottom of the frame about 1 1/2" and are wide open to any thing getting kicked up off the front tire. I plan on doing some gravel roads in the future and don't want to find myself leaving a trail of oil.

I've got it fitted but still need to clean it up a bit and paint it. Pics will be forthcoming.

That engine hanging below the frame was always a PIA.

I had to build a cradle for my lift so it would lift on the frame and not the engine.

So your gonna turn the 1500 into a trail bike ?

It would never make a trail bike:biglaugh:, I just want to see some of the "off the asphalt" places and needed the protection. I built an adapter for jacking also and I'll still have to use it cause I'm not sure the skid plate could handle the bikes weight.

I haven't been able to find any "decent" gravel type tires in 16" so I guess I'll just use what I've got and be careful.
