Hi there, I have a 2004 VL800. I noticed a gasoline smell recently and found the source: a leaky "petcock", aka fuel c0ck.
It's the vacuum operated valve under the tank.
The problem is, the only gasket I can find is for where the petcock mates up with the tank. I believe my leak is coming from another area, where there are 2 small black gaskets with a white plastic piece sandwiched between them.
I can't find these replacement gaskets. Please see microfiche pic below for where I *think* the leak is coming from. (I put a red box around the area. When you see it in person, it looks like a plastic piece and two very thin gaskets on top and bottom.)
The item #2 is the main gasket for where it mates to the tank, but I do not think this is where the leak is coming from.
Can I get replacement gaskets for the area in red? Do I need to buy an entire assembly (which is $70+)!!!
PS- Get your petcock jokes out in the open now... :biglaugh:
