So at the club meeting last night one of the guys had a sissy bar luggage rack combo that he gave to me after mentioning fabbing up a sissy bar. Well it's one of the Harley Davidson quick disconnect pieces. In a previous thread of mine I mentioned I'm in the market of a quick disconnect saddle bag system. I checked the length on the QD brackets between the mounting holes and it comes up a lil short. The option I'm thinking I have is to

buy a universal Saddle bag disconnect that has the sliding brackets and drill a new hole on the fender struts to the length of the holes on the quick disconnect sissy bar bracket and go from there

The sissy bar itself Is flexible enough to stretch apart some if need be but the luggage rack may be a lil too rigid to mess with

Am I reinventing the wheel on this project?? Any advice??
