I took the front fender off this morning to get it ready for painting. But I had a hard time working it around the forks and I'm afraid after I get it painted I will scratch it when I go back to reinstall it on the bike. Am I missing something? Is there an easy way of taking this thing off or on? I removed the front wheel when I removed it but I still think it would be scratched when I go to put it back on.

unfortunately i think you just bend the fender as its fairly pliable plastic

That's what I thought but the fender gets hung on the lip of the forks where the top and bottom halves connect. Bending the fender after I get it painted won't hurt the paint job will it?
