I lean my Vol till the footpegs fold all the way up on me... upon close examination of my tires, i find that i've worn them all the way up the "edge" if you will... so i feel like i'm getting maximum use out of my rubber! :)

Lean? Your supposed to lean? Is that necessary? I have never noticed any leaning. I have scraped my knee a couple times on my old GSX and OH...wait a minute! I bet that's why the 'lil bolts popped off the bottom of the pegs on my 'Lusia and the sides of the heels of my boots are worn flat too. If that's leaning then I guess it's a lot but of course it depends on the situation. Usually. I think. Hell, I just go with the bike.

Till I can scrape the sensors on the floor boards and hear the screeching sound. That's about 32-33 degrees. Further than that, I know it's too much. This ain't no sports bike. Lean too much, you'll lose the spring under the floor board; happened twice and that sucked.

I lean enough to turn. Unless I'm needing extra tight radius, I'm not pushing on the bar to lean the bike. It isn't that I can't turn hard or that I haven't ground a peg hard, it's just that I don't need to lean much and most of the time the sight lines won't support hard cornering. The longest stretch of relatively tight turns here is US129 over Deal's Gap. I really don't dare go too fast there - lots of police and traffic, too much of the traffic in my lane. Now up on the Cherohala on left sweepers I've tapped along with the left peg skimming, but I don't like the feel.

Somehow cruisers don't make me feel like cornering. More like loafing along!

Just enough to be safe and feel good about the turn. There are too many unsafe conditions with distracted drivers, I don't intend to add to the statistics of injuries on a bike. I enjoy riding too much to be leaning beyond my capabilities.
