That's unfortunate. It's a gamble every time we get on a bike. It's a gamble I choose to take. I enjoy the feeling of riding so much that there isn't a chance that I'll willfully give it up. It's is horrible for that man and his family though. :(

That's true, but it's a gamble every minute we're alive. Motorcycling can be a pretty safe activity if you work for it to be. 8)

It is tragic that this happened, but even if the guy had been in a car he could have been killed. People die in car accidents all the time. They die crossing the street. People hit trees while skiing. I wouldn't let the fact that someone else died in a wreck stop me from riding. Maybe it would be a reminder to me to drive as safe and defensively as I can, but I would still ride.

I'm with you there FBC.
My ex-husband was killed at age 33, just walking along the street.

I was in a Bus Wreck in 1972 the day after Christmas. 19 people were killed.
The dying stopped at my seat. We were a youth group on the way to skiing in Glorietta NM. I lost many friends that evening and was injured greatly.

I have Cerebral palsy and was in this accident. I was told a long time ago that I would not be able to walk without braces. Well, It is interesting that I am as crazy as I am....However, after the accident, (I was 17 at the time) I learned to roller skate, snow ski and water ski...I have had a number of different motorcycles. I turn 50 this year and my wife bought my new Boulevard last weekend.

At 20 I was doing 130 MPH in a porsche 911

I will not live life based on FEAR of what could happen!!

BTW, I have 7 kids who love me!!! I live on the edge and plan on living that way til my time comes to leave here. 8)

People should live life like they love it and they love the people who come their way. Hell, there is a enough negativity to fill a number of lifetimes but the best kind of life is the one lived to the fullest with the greatest amount of thankfulness and love. Have fun, enjoy it, feel good about it. Life here is all temporal anyway. Enjoy the connections you have with other people!

Here is a Quote for you Bob!!! "Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, cigarette in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "GOD DAMM what a ride!"

Edit... Not making light of the person in the story!

I guess that is the way we felt when we ran the Porsche to 130MPH

The guy who was driving the Porsche had just got it. His parents had been killed in the accident. His father was driving the bus and his mother was in the seat adjacent to him. Frank was their only child. The wreck killed them both that day. Frank is a great guy living in Houston Texas with a wonderful wife.

I have pretty much lived my life the way you discribe Haganwood. I don't regret one minute of it....as a matter of fact...

Jump off your bike...throw the cig down pull up to bunch of flowers or look at a beautiful waterfall, or take in the majestic wonderful animals in the wild....Take a look in a human beings eyes ....take a breath and say...Wow! It is so great to Live and be here!! :wayhappy:

BTW, Enjoy the next Lapdance the same way!! :biglaugh:
