Woo hoo!!! Yep I'll be there for pancakes and a nice morning ride this Saturday. I'm riding down Fri evening and getting a room in Sweetwater about 30 minutes away. That puts me at the Dragon about 9:00 Sat morning for breakfast. After that I plan on heading to the BRP and riding toward Ashville with a getoff at Rt 276 to enjoy that for about an hour. Then who knows might stay in Ashville or head back & stay in Maggie Valley. If you're in the area and spot a dark grey 2006 C50T w a batwing fairing be sure and wave!
The weather is finally breaking here in Ohio and the ride down should be nice, Satuday may be a little cool & maybe even damp but it should be tolerable.

Been there got the Tshirt  , I go to the area to ride. If I do anything other than that if I've got a litttle time in the evening I like to hit the Casino and donate a few bucks. :D

Going to the dragon

When you to the Dragon, stay in your lane, watch your speed I believe the posted speed limit is 35 now,and TN State troopers are EVERYWHERE!!!!!!
I know a few folks in law enforcement, they mean to slow it down on the
Dragon, sounds to me like their trying to shut it down!!!!!!
I would'nt want you to donate $200.00 to the State of Tennessee.

Thanks Slayer, I intend on being a turtle on the Dragon. I have no desire to rip through there. I'm seeing there are going to be like 3 sport bike clubs there this weekend so it should be pretty exciting. But with the THP there it keeps everyone sane.

Sweetwater is considerably more then 30 minutes away. Coming from ohio you should take 75 to 275 to 129 unless your heading over there to do the Cheraholla Skyway, but a lot more then 30 minutes to the dragon by that route. 8)

37.2 miles from the hotel in Sweetwater to the north end of the Dragon. 56 minutes according to google maps but the 6 or 7 times I've done this trip from that hotel it goes a lot quicker than 56 minutes. I know there are other routes down but when I first plotted a trip down a few years back it seemed as though Sweetwater on the map got me close, theres plenty of places to eat and sleep, and I'm not in the middle of tourist city with their tourist trap prices. I've also ridden 129 north from the dragon to 275 and it took me a lot longer with all the stops coming up on the south end of Knoxville. I actually did it twice. Trust me, coming from Ohio its nice to ride the highway with as few stops as possible and get off 37 miles from there.

I thought you were taking the skyway to the south side of the dragon. That would take considerably longer. I also thought you were coming down 75, but I guess it depends on what part of Oio you live in. Have a good time.

Rain should be mostly Friday evening into Saturday morning and then clearing out. That's the last heard for the local forecast.

You just don't know the shortcuts on the back roads. Trust me, and Seymour and Maryville aren't tourist trap priced. I should know as I live here.

Oh well rain or shine I'm heading down. Thanks for the tips Misunderstood maybe sometime we can ride together and you could show me some of those backroads. I'm sure living down there you know of some of those places off the beaten path. How about this Rt 276 have you ever rode over there?

Thanks Misunderstood I think I caught a break from work and am going down to Sweetwater tonight "Thurs". That way I'll be able to enjoy the 80 degree day Friday.
