Was wondering what lbs. the three bolts on the final drive should be torqued to? I have the axle but cant find those.

I would have to look it up in my Clymers tonight, but I want to say somewhere around 55 lb/ft

Correction... 3 final drive nuts - 30 lb/ft

my clymer says , unless I got the wrong part:

Table 5 Rear suspension Torque Specifications

Final drive ................................ ft-lbs
mounting bolts.......................... 30

My service manual sez 29 ft-lbs.

Oh boy :oops: Hope Madman didn't install his drive yet ... you guys are right, of course I was in the wrong column ... 30 ft.-lb. is correct.

Sorry Madman, I slipped in the column for the Bearing Retainer Screws.

madman,

Snug those drive nuts down a little at a time, and I would reduce the torque to less than 29 ft lbs, due to metal removal in that area. Good luck with your install! :wink:
