Apparently Suzuki has done an about face on continuing to outfit the Volusia with crappy, cheap, plastic fenders. While a sizeable number of you folks lamented on the benefits of same, enough THINKING people (probably behind the scenes) applied pressure and exacted this change. Good for them! The Intruder series was originally envisioned as a "real steel" alternative to Harley-Davidson -if you look into mid 80's bike history- you'll find that I speak the truth. Our bike( Intruder Volusia) has a mighty pleasing look to the eye, and an attractive price, but accomplished these with quite a few trade-offs. Now it appears that Hammamatsu is attempting to right that wrong. Kudos to them.... Next? The horrendous rear footpegs? Let us pray....Except for me of course -y'all believe that I'm Dante' himself, and Dante' DON"T pray!!!

well, we've figured out that suzuki advertised steel fenders since 01, so they're probably still plastic. sorry to burst your bubble... i'm one of those that prefers plastic

Go read the response to the post you made on the VOL site, Ricky... They have been advertising steel fenders from day one. They are still plastic.
