OK...bike still stuck in the garage on the frozen tundra up here but I start it once in a while just to hear it rumble. The last 2 times the clock flashes, alternating between the time and F I or F1 (not sure which). Seems to run fine but this is a new wrinkle never before seen by me. Any thoughts?

I'm thinking it's just cold temps Dave. My service manual tells me...

Until starting the engine, the FI light turns on.
The FI light is also turned on when engine temp is high or oil pressure is low
So I'm thinking the low temp is having an effect on oil pressure.

If it does throw a code the FI light will stay on and you'll have to down load it. (easy to do with a paper clip and I have a list of the FI codes).

But I'm betting it's low oil pressure due to the cold temps.

THanks, Russ. The flashing back and forth has me a little perplexed. I'll be able to tell more when I can get out and ride. I may pull a battery cable loose and see if re-connecting straightens it out.

Just thinking you may be able to clear the code by holding down the buttons for re-set of the trip meter or setting the clock.

The flashing back and forth makes me think it hasn't actually thrown a code.

I think it stays steady FI when an actual code is registered. That's why I think low oil pressure.
