It is time to swap out the Vol's engine and tranny. Fortunately, the replacement engine is an exact match. So, any advice. This is my virgin Vol engine swap. Any parts you suggest I buy in advance? Any "While you have it out" tasks you recommend. Currently, I only have drive shaft lube and radiator hose replacement on the list.

Thanks !

Looks like you've got the replacement parts list covered. I just recently performed a complete bike swap. It would have been alot easier if I would have only read the "engine removal" portion of the service manual.:crying:

Do you have a service manual ? It is invaluable.

Check the valves BEFORE the engine is in the frame.

The "tip over sensor" is marked "top". Don't mount it upside down.

It takes ALOT of patience to get all the air out when filling the radiator.

Add exhaust gaskets to your list. Use thread locker where appropriate.
