I
found this nail in my tread before heading home from work today. Pulled it straight out with pliers and it looks like it only gouged the rubber a little. Any precautions I should take?

That's awfully close to the sidewall. I'd probably chance it, but I'm not known for making the safest decisions, so take that with a grain of salt.

The tire casing has likely been weakened in that area.
Avoid any interstate operation, and speeds.

Thanks, I’ll probably get it checked out for peace of mind. I ride on the freeway every day to work.

how much is your life worth...especially if you ride the freeway daily for work...tires are expensive especially if you have to pay to have someone else install it...your tire looks pretty much with alot of tread left...hate to say it but when in doubt, Kaching $$$ and ride with peace of mind...especially if theres someone waiting home for you to get back safe & sound.

That's a stock IRC tire. They're super cheap. Get a new one.

The tire tread looks pretty new , but I would still be leery of keeping it.

People come with their problems. You give them suggestions. You never find out what the end result was. Go figure.
