It’s her Christmas present. The maroon VL800 has sat for 4 years at the dealership. The original owner brought it in due to “engine noise” and decided to trade it off. Nobody seems to know what kind of noise. That’s up to me to find out, today I hope.

Skinko tires front and back. I think bare wheels would be better

But for $500 with 18,000 miles I am not going to complain

no pics yet. If I take any they show up on my iPad and she might see them.

bike is in shop at work. She thinks I’m going in today to finish a lifter job on a 2015 Tahoe

Hope it's nothing serious. Wonder if original owner had the vales adjusted per manual? May be he was hearing them.

$500?! Hell, as long as it runs, that's a steal. I'm inclined to think it's just the sewing machine noise the original owner was complaining about. Have fun cleaning it up and making it the way she wants it.

Went to shop yesterday morning and went through all the basics. It’s sat for 4 years. Fresh gas and after a fair amount of coaxing it fired up. It needs timing chains and adjusters. Not a bad fix

for my wife's 60th birthday in 2019, after she took a riding class, I bought her a new 2015 Honda 750 Shadow (it was just being put together out of the crate at the dealer I just happened to walk in). At 50 she got her CDL. I'm thinking of taking her sky diving. The kids call her the badass grandma...LOL
