So as I was cleaning and polishing today I noticed a spot on the exhaust where it looks like a shoe might have melted on it at one time. Seems like I read a post here about how to get rid of things like that on your pipes but can't seem to find it now. Ideas would be most welcome

FLITZ- the worlds greatest metal polish!!!!!!! Just order a tube online, walk out to your bike, and the stain will have magically disappeared. Not only that, but your bike will be gold plated too. In fact, because I just mentioned it, the entire world just got shinier...........

Warm the pipes. Shut the bike off, then use a thick terrycloth towel (100% cotton!) to buff off the crud.
