Found this on Facebook and became friends with the retired vet who was selling it. It’s a 2002 GL1800 Gold Wing with a 2011 Motor Trike - trike update. I’m hard pressed to find anything to spend money on as it has so many mods. It does need a new windshield but other than that it’s amazing shape. It has 40,000 miles on it. 2011 Ford Mustang independent suspension and three degree rake on the front tire.

Woof woof! Still got the old motorcycle plate to put on it?
Actually when we returned “The Dog” plate Dianne told the lady at DMV how much it meant to me and she let me keep it. (I had to promise not to tell anyone) Using it again may take some time but I’m trying. I put in for that one first, then DOG1, and DOGON3 if not. Time will tell.

The only thing that doesn’t add up is how beat the windshield is compared to everything else. Anyone like one brand over another for replacement? I need to replace it ASAP it’s that bad. Normally I would just sell it when it’s time to change the oil, but I think this one might just stick around.

Does Cee Baily make a windshield for it? (Not even sure if they are still in business).

Edit....just checked, Cee Baily stopped making motorcycle shields a couple of years ago....too bad, they were high quality shields.

They are sticking to airplanes.

It may not be age that has caused the windshield to deteriorate. If the PO used windex or just wasn't careful cleaning it or treated it like a glass windshield that may have caused the clouding. Take the VIN to the dealer and make sure all the recalls have been performed. There were a couple concerning frame cracks on that model year.

If you like the stock windshield then you should be able to find good ones on Ebay from folks selling their take offs. If you want a taller windshield that you look through and provides better wind protection for your passenger then check Slip Streamer look under OEM replacements on their web site.

Ouch frame cracks, I never thought of that. Thank you. I’m on it. If all is good maybe I’ll just have them replace the windshield.

Update: I checked the recalled list of vin numbers on the Honda website and it looks like I have an earlier 2002 and the problem started later on in 02. My vin number is not on the list.
