How complicated is it. From what I saw in the factory manual, it looked like you had to take the forks apart to do this. When I did it on my old Kawi, all I had to do is remove the fork caps, drain the oil and swap out the springs.

No need to drain the fork oil, just estimate how much came out with the old springs, if any, and put in the progressives.
On my Volusia I just put in 3/4" spacers on top of the springs to preload a little.

You just take off the caps on top. They're a lot easier to get off than
they are to put back on.
