Hey guys. On my 2008 c50, I’ve had a Kand N filter for the last oh lets say 15 years or so. I recently bought an oem filter and was going to put that on. I don’t know why. I guess at one point my bike had cobra pipes and a power commander which I took off years ago and just kept the air filter. I went back to the stock pipes. Anyway it seemed like there should be a rubber gasket between the chrome trim and the air filter. So I looked it up Motosport and found this. Hmm, yeah there is something. Seems like it would be more aesthetic since it it before the filter? When I received it, seems like its too small and not really any way to put it on. What am I missing? Trying to attach some pics.

The gasket that I got is in the chrome housing and inside the air filter housing in the pictures so you can see that it is too small. Its actually c shaped but the channel is on the inside instead of one of the sides.

The two small 90 degree tubes, I understand, were only included in the 2001 model, later they were removed. My C50 is from 2006 and it doesn't have them either. What I send is the service manual for the VL800 that I have, which goes from 2001 to 2009. The first chapters are the same for all years. It changes in 2005 because they eliminated the carburetor for electronic injection. Check part number 13746-41F00 Gasket
