Hi folks, still having same no start issue...been a while since looked @ it , matter of fact it's still on trailer w/tarp...Today I charged battery till charger said "full" @ 12.7v. When i turn on key I don't here fuel pump priming and when I hit START there is only a click...Terminals are bolted tight and fuel in bike...
If I cross terminals on the solenoid the engine turns but does not start.
I Did notice under the seat a b/w wire going to a connector that then has two b/w wires coming from other side connected to it BUT at the end of those two wires it is not connected to anything...just two ends laying there...I don't see it on the wire diagram but it IS hard to focus on even with a magnifier...Having the connector there and not tape tells me that i didn't put it there but must have disconnected from somewhere @ some point

Any help in this matter will be most appreciated.
Thanks,
Buster

Without that wire connected I replaced solenoid and now bike is starting but I have to disconnect battery to make the starter stop spinning...is it possible the little wires @ solenoid need reversed? I thought it did not matter but perhaps that is only true for the BIG wires on the bolt terminals...
I am going to check the start switch and figured I would post an update here first.

well it appears quite likely that the "NEW" solenoid was faulty because I put on one of my old ones and no problem with engine & starter spinning when touching ground wire to Negative post on battery...Engine/starter responded when key on and pushing start button but only faintly started couple times before battery was to drawn on to continue...Luckily I bought and charged a new battery in case of this...ALSO I am thinking since I do not smell heavy odor of fuel the pump may be worn out..So AGAIN luckily I bought a new one (even though it's aftermarket cheap one) in case this happened....So now I will change out the battery (glad it was sitting next to bike and not installed) and replace fuel pump and maybe put some fresh fuel in her and hopefully things will work as expected...Still wondering where black wire coming from harness under fuel tank but not connected (just laying under seat) and a B/w wire ending with a connector that's not connected to anything...There was two b/w wires forming one that was pushed in the connector of that single b/w one mentioned...Sounds crazy I know but at least it is trying to start normal now and not firing just by connecting the ground to battery...So THAT I think is an excellent start...
Still in dire need of some guidance here and I know pictures work wonders when asking for help but having problems getting them from phone to posting here...
ANYWAY thanks to all who take the time to read this "mini-novel" and even MORE grateful to those who offer possible solutions...
Thanks,
buster

well NOW that I was pretty sure I checked/double checked ALL possible areas of malfunction I just noticed that I do not hear the fuel pump activating when turning key on or even when pressing start button....I tried the new one and put the old one back on and same issue = no "prime" sound audible....When I pull the hoses back off gas drains from them and the petcock left in "on" position has fuel coming out of the one hose that I am sure I am connecting to the "IN" port of the pump....I guess when it DID fire up for a sec before it was just residual fuel left in carbs burning off...But now I just have a cranking engine and no fire.
PLEASE HELP....This things making me wanna drink ): nah just kiddin....Hopefully nothing in this universe would have me throwing 20 yrs (2-22-99) sobriety away....
ANYWAYS I am stumped as to what to look @ next on this thing...
