Another Lowers Option

It seems we have another option for lowers in addition to Value Accessories, Memphis Shades Lowers, and DIY.

Memphis Shades also markets a product for $40 they call "Fork Deflectors", their part number 2350-0143. The mounts are sold separately. Do not confuse these with their "Lowers". The deflectors are much taller and measure 14"X5". I was curious why they say these did not fit a C50 so I tried to contact Memphis Shades. I tried several times and never received a response from their customer service department. I guess they were all out of town to receive an award for customer service or something.

Anyway, I decided to contact the technical desk at Dennis Kirk. I have ordered from these folks before and have always been pleased. I asked them if the hole size and hole centers on the deflectors were the same as their lowers. The guy at Dennis Kirk said he would have the warehouse pull a set of each and he would measure and get back to me. In less than 30 minutes he called me back saying they were identical. I ordered a set of deflectors and the Memphis Shades mounting kit for their lowers, their part number 2321-0038, from Dennis Kirk. The total was right at $96.00 plus freight.

They fit and work well. The pictures show them on my 2007 C50 with the Memphis Fats 21" screen and Cobra bars. They have eliminated almost all buffeting. Your height, helmet, posture, seat, windscreen, and general demeanor may yield different results.

For what it is worth.

LOL... But seriously, thanks Blinky! It looks great! :)

Would these fit if you have the OEM lightbar? (I have a 2010, with the OEM lightbar, and would order some IF they fit, without "modification". I'd like them to "bolt right on!")

I can't help you there since I don't have a light bar. If no one else chimes in with any information, I would be glad to take one off and mail it to you so you can do a trial fit. I am about out of riding weather anyway. PM me your address.

Good hunting

Just ordered a set of these from Amazon. I have a set of shorter MS Lowers on now but there is quite a bit of turbulence behind the windshield.

However, the Number is 2350-0143, not 2350-0142 as you show. -0142 is a clip-on faring for the side of the MS windshield.

I will let you know how they compare to the shorter ones I have on now.

lv2tinker,
Thanks for the catch. I corrected my original post.

Blinky:
Received my Memphis Shades "Fork Deflectors", part number 2350-0143 yesterday so I removed the shorter MS Lowers and installed the Longer 14"X 5" Fork Deflectors on my 2005 C50 (had to lower the mounting brackets 2 1/2" so they would fit properly) this morning and took her for a ride.

What a "huge" difference. All buffeting behind the windshield is "gone".
Went on a 50 mile ride later in the day and it was a pleasure sitting behind that Memphis Fats 21" windscreen.

I highly recommend these 14"X 5" Fork Deflectors to anyone going on long distance rides. Makes it "much" more pleasurable.:biglaugh:

Stumbled on this and decided to order a set for my wife's bike. One thing to wrap for under the tree! I think it should be an improvement over the standard MS lowers for her.

Warning for anyone installing lowers. They will require you to install chaps on your bars. First time I went riding on wet roads with no rain falling I found my shins and feet getting wet?????? Problem turns out to be water thrown up by the front tire, sliding down the lowers, dripping of the bottom and right back to my feet!!! Chaps will be ordered soon for my trike. Lowers have been installed.

What a great thread! I bought the MS lowers mounting hardware on ebay some time back, and was waiting for a good deal on the lowers. Now I know I will order the fork deflectors instead, based on this new info. I have a MS Alley Cat windshield now, though untested since it came after winter hit. I already tried Big Shot and Pop Top, trying to find the right height for me. I think these deflectors will be the bomb.

This looks like it could be a big improvement over my va lowers, which I always thought looked great, but didn't make much of a difference in buffeting for me.

Another Lowers Option - MS Batwing

I have a MS Batwing and was considering lowers or fork deflectors that would be a nice addition
to the BW that would cut down the buffeting, but not look all gawdy and such.

Anyone out there have lowers/fork deflectors with a Batwing? How they working out for you ?

Check with J&P cycles in Daytona, FL.
They sell polished metal deflectors.

Well, I ordered some. Dennis Kirk has the mounts that fit the 2018 C50T. They don't list any of the fork deflectors fitting my bike but they do have the ones w/ the part number listed in an earlier post so I got those. We will see when they come in around the 18th. Will post results.

This should really be a sticky.
Thanks to the OP I plugged the part numbers into Ebay and managed to find a seller who has both the lowers and the mounting kit in the USA and will ship to the UK at a reasonable price.
Ive looked for ages for lowers in my country and now I have found a cheap option to import.
Thanks OP if you're still active
